Best Use of Typography

- Katherine - I think this one has the best used of typography, because it uses two different typefaces not including the logo, It uses hierarchy, using size and color. The leading is appropriate and the tracking is good as well. There are also no orphans or ditto marks.
- Hector - There is a beautiful use of different types in this packaging which makes it unique and attractive. The combination of types helps to emphasize the crunchy and flavory feeling of the product. The design is simple in terms of content, color and illustrations, because the typography takes care of expressing the image of the product.

Unique Shape

- Hector - This products has an unique shape that I I never seen before so it really stroke my sight once I discover it. The particular shape of the cap and the curvature from the bottom to the left makes it really interesting and different. This form also makes the product easier to use since the weight is shifted to the cap when needed. The simplistic design and form make it appealing to the eye.

Series

-
-
Katherine - it stood out because of the illustrations, all the products surrounding it were organic products and their designs were good but this one was special because of the good color contrast. the logo is simple typography, with effective tracking and size; the pop of color in the middle made it more lively, and the typeface is clean & simple which I think it works since the illustrations are already eye catching. The typeface they use for the vertical text flows well with the illustration because there is a sense of movement
-
-
- Hector - This series called my attention because of the beautiful use of colors to differentiate products and how the illustrations can give you more of a sense in how the actual product will smell. The packaging is attractive colorful and the typography is simple and straight to the point. It is a package that speaks for itself with its natural tones.

Best Design - Male

- Katherine - This one was a package for the male product and I thought it was well design because its simple and clean. the used of hierarchy was used well, not over done. I didn't see any typography issues.. well maybe I would have increased the leading between the blue and white text, but other then that I thought it was good. What called the attention the most was the photography and its placement, it leads the viewer to read what the product is about.

- Hector - This product stand out by its use of simple illustration and elegant presentation. The label stands out and makes me feel like its a medal, a trophy or a plate that I would be proud of having for being a "champion". The stars are settle and elegant. The use of typography is suitable for using about two or three different styles.

Best Design - Female

- Hector - This is a really interesting product to see since it has a magical look like none of the others had. The wonderful use of color and typography called my attention and its simplicity. The typography enhances the magical feel of the product and gives it that 'princess' or 'queen' feeling.

- Katherine - This one I choose for the female product. It is very playful and eye catching. they used opposite colors that contrast well and look playful and very girly. The decorative typeface tides the whole design because of its playful look, and it makes you want to have it. The colors match the product and even though is really matchy the product is the center of attention, with the text surrounding it and the white heart pointing to the brush. Good use of typography and composition.

Best Sustainable

- Hector - This product is made of 80% post consumer products and could be reuse for multiple options. It's a simple packaging, but sturdy. Simple use of hierarchy , typography and illustration. It gives the consumer simple reuse ideas on the back and is also free of any chemicals that may be harmful for the environmental.

Redesign

- Hector - This box is completely overwhelming by the over use of logos all over the packaging. I understand that the logos is the whole point of the game, but it is overkill how they just flushed all the logos overlapping each other and expecting to look good. It is too distracting, poorly organized, and the use of typography is limited. The logos inside the box should be more of a surprise since it feels I already played the game just by looking at the box.

- Katherine - This is my preferred one for a redesign because the first thing i notice was that they used a tilde instead of a dash, they also have three orphans in the description. For the 3rd subtitle "relax & relief" there is not enough kerning between the x and the &, so they look like they are overlapping, but it doesn't look like that's what they intend it. also for foaming I though it could have used some more tracking because some of the strokes are touching and it gives the impression of a continuous line.

End Cap Display

- Hector - This end cap is so tempting and attractive since it uses typography to call for your attention and makes the illusion of having a conversation with the consumer. The designs are all about the typography and you can easily spot the product by its unique top. It is creates a sense of different flavors with the colors to please many consumers.

Best Low Material
- Hector - The simplistic use of the strings enhance the vintage look of it. I think its simply elegant to have that holding the plates together. The tag card is minimal in terms of design but it gives it a serious and elegant look to the product. This feels like the intent is to let the product speak for itself and its more about what you get than the brand.
Best Illustration Use

- Hector - This was the best use of illustration I found for its creativeness. Combining the actual product with the intended market its smart and effective. The illusion of seeing an actual kid using the product creates a nostalgic feeling in the consumer which really makes this product special. This product engages your attention and makes you feel like your need a hug too.

- Hector - This package, I thought it had a good use of photography in packaging. The photograph of Selena Gomez is dominant, and the vertical and centered position of her draws the viewers attention to the name of the perfume. The typeface gives a sense that its flowing kind of like water or maybe even her dress if it was more visible. Its a really simple design but it stands out because of the color choices, and also the size of the package.
